How Does a Virtual Learning Day Work?

How will the virtual learning day be monitored and counted for attendance?
As a district, we are still held accountable for attendance on a virtual learning day. Attendance will be taken through an online form.

  • Students at Hillside Elementary School should visit the elementary school website and complete the Hillside Daily Attendance Check-in each day by 10:00 a.m.
  • Students at Tenakill Middle School should visit the middle school website and complete the Tenakill Daily Attendance Check-in each day by 10:00 a.m.
  • A student must be logged into Google with his/her nvnet.org account to have the correct permissions for taking attendance.

Teachers will assess the student’s work and determine if the student has met the instructional goals for the day. It is important that students put forth their best efforts during the virtual learning day.

What is the process for the virtual learning day?

What if a student does not have access to the internet?
If a student does not have internet access at home, his/her parent should email Vincent Salvati, network engineer. We will make arrangements to assist this student.

What if the student’s device is not working on a virtual learning day?
If another internet-enabled device is available, that may be used. If another device is not available, a parent should email Vincent Salvati, network engineer. Please provide a telephone contact number so Mr. Salvati can contact you. We will make arrangements to assist this student.

If the student cannot find a way to complete the assignments, he/she should let the teacher know by emailing the teacher or by calling the school's main office telephone number and leaving a voicemail message, with your telephone contact number:

  • Tenakill Middle School: (201) 768-1332
