Science Olympiad Team Heads to State Competition

Our Science Olympiad team is heading to the state tournament after another outstanding season, including its third straight regional championship title.

At the regional tournament at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, the team took first place, continuing a streak of excellence that reflects their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to collaboration.

Competing across 23 events in test, lab, build, and hybrid formats, students tackled a wide range of scientific disciplines. Highlights included Experimental Design, in which students conducted live investigations under time pressure; Disease Detectives, which challenged them to apply real-world epidemiology concepts; and engineering events such as Helicopter, which required them to build and test flight devices. Events such as water quality and circuits further demonstrated their ability to blend content knowledge with hands-on technical skill.

Last season also marked a milestone: the team’s first appearance at national invitational tournaments, where they competed against top teams from across the country.

The district extends its gratitude to the families and community members whose support has been instrumental in the team’s success. We look forward to cheering them on at the state tournament!
