Goals For 2026–2027:
- By May 2027, complete the full launch of the Profile of a Closter Learner Rubric for all pre-k–8 students, including a teacher training during September 2026 professional learning time, completion of the first whole-class rubric scan by the end of trimester two, and family communication through Realtime report card integration in spring 2027. As a measurable outcome, each school will confirm completion of all three implementation components (training, rubric scan, and Realtime integration) via a brief year-end checklist submitted to the superintendent.
- By May 2027, implement school-based action plans to strengthen social-emotional learning and character education programming at both schools, building on the comprehensive SWOT analyses completed in 2025–2026, with a focus on interactive instruction, counselor-led programming, home-school communication, family engagement, and student voice. As a measurable outcome, each school will produce a report by May 2027 detailing the implementation of its action plan, including implementation status, data on outcomes where available, and recommended next steps for 2027–2028.
- By May 2027, the superintendent will establish and facilitate a district Innovative Learning Committee, including administrators and teachers, that will meet a minimum of five times during the 2026–2027 school year to review current research, emerging technologies, and model programs in innovative instruction and environmental/sustainability initiatives, and will produce a formal written report to the board of education by May 2027 with recommendations for at least one initiative for 2027–2028.
